Edmunds’ Inside Line Review of 2007 Escalade

Edmunds.com’s Inside Line has a full review of the new 2007 Escalade.
They loved the new interior, strong powertrain, and great ride and handling.
The weren’t that hot for the brakes, some of the interior materials, and the audio system.

Detroit News - Review of the STS-V

Paul and Anita Lienert have driven and reviewed the new STS-V. They are greatly impressed by the power and refer to the STS-V as ”...simply the best American luxury/sport sedan ever.”
Interestingly enough, it appears that the new Cadillac with its performance v-Series were both the brainchild of then Cadillac General Manager, John Smith in the late 90’s.
Just in case you wondered how slowly things happen in the car biz.

CTS Coupe rumored

It looks like the conjecture here at the CaddyEdge about the next CTS getting a coupe body style might not have just been wishful thinking after all.
Automotive News and Autoweek.com are both reporting that part of the next CTS program has been a little pet project of Bob Lutz, a 2-door CTS to go head to head with the Mercedes CLK, the BMW 3-series coupes, and the G35 coupe.
This would certainly explain the extremely fast (steep) rear window on the styling buck that Mr. Lutz was showing off on 60 Minutes a few weeks ago.
Note: Rumor has it that the CTS coupe will follow the new sedan by one year.

May 4, 2006 - 3:32 pmMotortrend.com has posted their comparison of the new STS-V with the Mercedes CLS55 AMG (Mercedes E-class based 4-door ‘coupe’).
Their conclusions? Even for $12000 more, they’d take the Mercedes based on its less confusing nav system, richer interior, and faster acceleration (while both pack 469hp, the Mercedes does have quite the torque advantage (516 lb*ft vs the STS-V’s 439).
Otherwise, the cars are very well matched – and in our opinion the CLS’ droopy headlights and trunk are just odd.

CARkeys review of BLS

CARkeys, a UK automotive web site, has driven their second BLS (their first test was of a turbo-diesel model). This time, they spent some seat time in a 2.8l turbo equipped BLS Sport Luxury.
The verdict…they feel the car will sell to those who just must have an American badged car, but that it doesn’t stack up incredibly well against other cars in the segment.
