Over at the official Cadillac blog, the development team has posted some interesting tidbits about the upcoming 08 CTS.
1. All-wheel drive will be available right off the bat, though it will not be available with a manual unless customers demand the configuration.
2. Cars will arrive at dealers in August or September.
3. Bluetooth connectivity will be a dealer-installed option, though they are thinking of making it even more integrated in the future.
4. There are ‘more interesting features’ that will be revealed closer to launch (this is part of the statement about Bluetooth, so this may be referring to electronics compatibility).
The good folks over at Car and Driver are already talking about the particulars of the upcoming 2nd generation CTS-V.
Based on the new 2008 CTS, the V is expected to pack at least 500hp and Mr. Lutz is already putting BMW on notice that the CTS-V will “suck the doors off” the competition.
The V’s power might come from a 7.0l Z06 Corvette (in keeping with the original that also sourced its engine from the top Vette) but apparently other options are also on the table.
Looks like things just keep getting better for all of us Cadillac fans.

At this week’s SAE World Congress in Detroit, GM’s head of global engineering, Jim Queen, hinted that rumors of an Australian developed Cadillac flagship and V-12 engine might not be as out of the question as we’ve heard.
What I’m seeing is an unintentional leak at first, followed by an over-zealous denial that backfired, and now Mr. Queen giving Cadillac fans a wink and a nod that this product is coming.
I’d expect a Cadillac flagship, with a V-12 as an optional powertrain by 2010.
