2008 CTS first drives

August 28, 2007 - 8:24 am

Update: Added Detroit News review as well.

08CTS On TrackMany of the reviews we’ve seen to date of the new 2008 CTS are based on little to no time behind the wheel of production examples (some in the media even write their initial reviews based only on the press release).

This week, we have started to see impressions gleaned from GM’s ride and drive that was held in California on public roads and the race track over the course of a couple days. Obviously, reviews written based on this will be based on actual time with the car in lots of driving situations.

Impressions seem to be quite good – as you can see in the list of reviews below.

Cadillac gets Global Design group

August 20, 2007 - 11:31 am

Cadillac CrestAutomotive News reported today that Cadillac has formed a brand new ‘Global Design’ team, headed by GM designer Clay Dean.

Mr. Dean has worked closely on GM’s small-car platforms, including the Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky and Aura, Chevy Cobalt, Malibu, and HHR. He headed up the teams for the HHR, Malibu, and Aura.

By creating a group specifically for Cadillac design should help maintain Cadillac’s unique look while Cadillac moves to share some component sets/architectures with other GM divisions going forward (such as the new rear-drive Alpha, a sub-SRX crossover, and Cadillac’s new S-class/7-series sedan).
