Update: While Autoweek.com is reporting that this is true – our contact with GM PR will not yet confirm that Cadillac is indeed getting out of the SCCA series, though we were told an announcement will be made soon.
Cadillac announced today that they would not be competing in next season’s SCCA Speed World Challenge.
This appears to be an effort to not campaign the previous generation CTS-V race cars while waiting for the new CTS-V to debut – rather than any concerns about money spent or lack of success by the team.
The team to make their return once the next CTS-V is available.

Edmunds got to speak with Eric Clough, Cadillac interiors director of design. A couple interesting things came out of the discussion.
1. What the heck are French stitching/seams and why is Cadillac making such a fuss over them in their new interiors.
2. What is going on with the foot-operated parking brake in the new CTS? (hint, it is going away in 2009, but not in the way you might initially expect).

For those of you looking for hot-rod parts for your newer Cadillac – pickings have been quite slim for a long time (Lund being one of the rare exceptions, Mallett being another for V-Series CTS’).
Now, we have word of another player in the CTS/CTS-V; STS/STS-V; XLR/XLR-V; Escalade performance and styling game.

Can you tell I’ve recently discovered Cars.com’s video reviews?
This time around it is a ‘quick drive’ of the supercharged XLR-V (which is odd, since they don’t seem to really spend much time actually driving the darn thing…a shame for any V-series.
If you’d like to see a quick walk-around of the XLR-V, be sure to click below:
