Cadillac unveils CTS Coupe concept

In a surprise last minute move, Cadillac has added one more item to their list of debuts at Detroit…the CTS Coupe concept.

CT Coupe ConceptObviously based on the CTS sedan, the coupe concept has a low roof 4-inches lower than the sedan.

The coupe is powered by Cadillac’s 2.9l diesel V-6 that will be familiar to followers of Cadillac in Europe and, due to recent CAFE changes, likely to be part of the US Cadillac powertrain lineup as well.

The concept rides on 20” front wheels and 21” rear with unique sheetmetal all around and a lower ride height.

Expect a production coupe with very similar styling to debut in a few months.

Cadillac’s press conference at the Detroit auto show

New CTS earns IIHS top rating

In news that will be all the more important when folks that aren’t ready for it start gunning their new 550hp CTS-Vs around…the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has just given the new CTS its highest rating of ‘Top Safety Pick’.

The new CTS earned the highest ratings in front, side, and rear impacts as well as by having standard stability control in Cadillacs StabiliTrak system.

Congrats to GM and Cadillac for earning this extremely rare award.
