Cadillac announces $190 Million and 600 new jobs for Lansing, MI plant

October 28, 2010 - 1:59 pm

Matching nicely with the rumors over the last couple days, GM/Cadillac announced that a new small Cadillac would go into production at GM’s Lansing, Michigan plant.

The investment would also include a new shift and 600 new assembly workers as well.

What was not announced was the official name of the new Cadillac (though ATS is what has been floated by GM before) nor the exact timing of the start of production of the new car. Today’s announcement only mentioned that the timing of the new shift and production of the new car would be ‘announced later’.

ATS plans expected Thursday

Cadillac is rumored to be planning some announcements surrounding the upcoming ATS. These should include production details like an investment in the Lansing, MI plant that currently builds the CTS and STS.

There could be a surprise tomorrow if Cadillac has decided to show the actual car.

More details in a few hours.

CTS-V Sportwagon priced

October 5, 2010 - 11:00 am

CTSV WagonCadillac has announced pricing today of the CTS-V Sportwagon. With destination, the new king of wagons will price out at $62,990. This completes the trifecta of V-variants of the CTS line.

This is probably the most badass version of the CTS while also being the one most likely to sell in triple-digits per year (i.e. nobody’s going to buy one).

You have to hand it to Cadillac for having the guts to build this model, though.
