Cadillac unveils Platinum Series DTS, STS, and XLR

A day before the media days of the Los Angeles Auto Show, Cadillac announced a premium trim level of the DTS, STS, and XLR coined the ‘Platinum Series’.
As you may remember, Cadillac has shown Platinum badged Escalades in the past.
Each model is marked by dressed up interiors and other nice touches like unique wheels, paint colors, etc.
Expect to be able to pick up an XLR or STS Platinum Series early in 2007 with the DTS Platinum Series now bowing until August 2007 as a 2008 model year.

Earlier this month, Paul Lienert at the Detroit News got a chance to review the XLR-V.
I think his first sentence tells quite a tale:
The 2007 Cadillac XLR-V is not only the best Cadillac on the market today, it may be the best car built in America, period.

Cadillac begins next phase of push into European market

While Europe is not yet a major market for Cadillac, they are continuing their push to be a major player in the worldwide luxury market by expanding their offerings in Europe.
Examples of this renewed push include:
The introduction of the brand new Escalade SUV, all-wheel drive version of the STS as well as STS with a new 6-speed automatic transmission, and a new 6-speed manual and automatic with sport mode in the BLS, all late in 2006.
The introduction of the 2007 SRX with a new, much more refined interior package at the beginning of 2007.
The introduction of the STS-V and XLR-V high-performance cars during the first quarter of 2007.

2007 Cadillac info added to the Models section

Cadillac recently released all the details of their 2007 model year vehicles.
Now, you can check out all the info/changes/stats in the CaddyEdge Models page.
Highlights include the new SRX interior, expanded use of the 6-speed 6L50 automatic, as well as new 7th Generation OnStar with turn-by-turn direction feature (without a dedicated navigation screen).
