In Europe, the majority (58-70%) of luxury cars in the CTS’ segment are powered by ultra-efficient, high-tech diesel engines.
So, a few months after the introduction of the 2nd generation CTS to Europe, Cadillac will add a 3.0l diesel V-6 sourced from Italy’s VM Motori. Expected to put out around 245hp – this powertrain should go a long way to increase CTS’ acceptance in Europe.
“We expect at least 50% of CTS sales to be diesels,” – Dick Braakhekke, Cadillac Europe spokesman.
With the expected addition of a CTS wagon (another body style that is quite popular in Europe, if not so much in the US) – the CTS is poised to make a strong showing in the coming years.
