My best guess is that Cadillac wants to hit the biggest segments first before branching out into smaller, less-profitable markets like the convertibles.
Otherwise, I’d be expecting a Cadillac Z4/SLK competitor based on Kappa (which shouldn’t be that tough – but wouldn’t really provide much profit in the end).
The exception is the XLR which is a halo-car that allows Cadillac to point to as a high-end, well received product – even if it doesn’t make them much money.
Care to comment?

How about a competitor to the new bmw auto-retractable hardtop 4-seat convertibles? (or volvo’s C70)?
