CT4 - A 2nd Generation ATS by Any Other Name
Yesterday, Cadillac released what can only be termed the V-Sport variants of the CT5 and the CT4.
CT5 is a known quantity, but this is the very first showing of the CT4 sedan. Previously, we used measurements to determine that the CT5 is more a split between the CTS and XTS in size vs the expected split between the CTS and ATS that many expected.
Now, putting the CT4 in the same table, shows that the CT4 is packing the exact same wheelbase as the ATS, and is within 10ths of an inch on all interior dimensions.
That and the fact the CT4 is also based on the same Alpha platform as the prior ATS, CTS, and CT5 shows that the CT4 is essentially a second generation ATS in all but badge.
That means that the CT4-V is still at V-Sport equivalent as it is packing only an automatic transmission and is 144hp short of the prior ‘true’ V-Series.
Rumors are that there will be true V-Series models, perhaps with manual transmissions, coming of at least the CT4 and hopefully the CT5 (though we doubt the CT5 will get a manual at any point).
