DTS Wins AutoPacific 2007 Vehicle Satisfaction Award

AutoPac VSALast night, AutoPacific announced the winner of their Vehicle Satisfaction Award for Large Luxury Car.

The 2007 winner is none other than the DTS.

AutoPacific president George Peterson:

It takes an especially satisfying vehicle to win the AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards outright – top car and rated higher than the top truck. The Cadillac DTS – Cadillac’s Large Luxury Car – achieved that honor for the 2007 model year. Owners particularly liked the Cadillac DTS for its package (Size, Roominess, Ease of Entry/Exit, Visibility), Exterior and Interior Style, Ride, Power/Acceleration, Innovative Technology and Warranty Coverage. This is part of the Cadillac renaissance.

Nice work, Cadillac! This model would be doing even better with consumers and critics if GM had upgraded the vehicle more appropriately–rather than “Model Change Enhancements” as has been done. The steadily high sales demonstrate that Cadillac needs a full-sized luxury sedan with traditional Cadillac styling cues in their line-up. Imagine if the engine and transmission (e.g. six speed) and other major components were updated! Regardless of how “European” some critics want Cadillac to become, this is what Cadillac IS! Let the other models in the line-up broaden the appeal, but in my opinion, there will always be a place for a model such as this.
