Production Cadillac ELR to Debut January 15

Cadillac has sent out notices to fans of the upcoming ELR extended range electric coupe that they will finally unveil the car in production form on January 15, 2013. This is the second if the two press days at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan. So it is safe to say this will be an auto show reveal from Cadillac. The ELR is a rakish coupe based in the Voltec drivetrain found in the Chevy Volt small sedan. Changes from the Volt are currently unknown, though we'd bet the car stays closer to the Volt's specs than some have suggested and hoped. The ELR isn't expected to go on-sale until late 2013, so details like price and even electric range may remain unannounced even on the reveal day next month.
