New CTS coming soon
Just a little reminder to watch this space for all the details on the 2008 CTS expected to be announced in Detroit early Monday, January 8th. From all the rumors and bits of info we've been able to piece together, expect the standard sedan only to debut. Power will be supplied by a revised version of the 3.6l VVT V-6 with direct injection putting out over 300hp. A revised version of the 2.8l could also be announced at that time. Transmission options should include the 6-speed manual as well as a new 6-speed automatic (replacing the current 5-speed). Interior appointments should be upgraded quite a bit from what we've seen previously with plenty of aluminum trim and swoopier styling. We know a coupe and V-series are on the way, but in keeping with how things are done at Cadillac's competition, don't expect much news about either for several months with on-sale dates being up to a year after the fall 07 on-sale date of the sedan. We may also see a sport wagon version around that time (mid-08) as well. Remember, the CTS is as important to Cadillac now as the 3-series is to BMW. This makes the new CTS an incredibly important launch that GM is certainly investing a lot of time and effort to get just right. See you all here Monday morning for more details (unless Cadillac puts out an early release).
