Some CTS-V details leaked early
On this coming Monday, Cadillac will unveil the second generation CTS-V. The folks over at Jalopnik have posted that some of the juicy details have slipped early... They are claiming the following:
550 horsepower/550lb-ft 6 speed manual or auto w/ paddles magnetic ride control recaro racing seats 4200lbs(man)-4300(auto)
This would put the CTS-V ahead of its most obvious competition (the BMW M5) by 50hp while immediately giving us access to both manual and automatic transmissions (unlike BMW that saddled the M5 with a clunky automatically shifted manual for a year before bowing to pressure in the US to get a true manual into the car). No word yet on if this is a detuned supercharged 6.2l LS9 V-8 from the Corvette ZR1 (with its obvious tuning potential to well over 600hp with not too much work). Expect lots of CTS-V yummy details on Monday.
