Converj headed for production
The Detroit News has learned that GM has approved the Cadillac Converj for production. The Converj, as you might recall, was a swoopy coupe with the 'Voltec' electric/gas engine 'range extender' drivetrain very similar to that in the Chevy Volt sedan due in showrooms in about a year. Expect the Converj to command a higher price than the Volt's approximately 40k sticker, to be a sportier car overall, and to get similar city mileage to the Volt's 230mpg number on the EPA's new system for rating electrics. Unknown is what the production car will be called or if it will come to market with 2 or 4 doors. Read more at the Detroit News
