2014 Cadillac XTS TurboCadillac recently revealed the details of the planned changes to the XTS large sedan. As announced earlier this year when the CTS Vsport model debuted - the XTS will get a new top engine in the form of a twin-turbo 3.6l Direct Injection V-6. In this application, it will be backed exclusively by a 6-speed automatic and the XTS' all-wheel drive system. Output is down slightly from its application in the CTS, with the XTS packing 410hp and 369lb*ft - torque is constant from 1900-5600 (down from the CTS Vsport's 420hp and 430lb*ft - torque peak in this application ranges from 2500-5500rpm). In addition to the new top engine, the turbo XTS also gets a unique grill treatment (shown in the photo above). Other new features of the 2014 Cadillac XTS include:

  • Automatic Parking Assist (FWD models)
  • Electric power steering (FWD models)
  • Intellibeam headlamps
  • Rear-seat entertainment system
  • Front passenger seat memory feature
  • Revised rear-seat armrest with wood trim, radio controls and sunshade control (if equipped)
  • Opaque sunroof sunshade

Automatic parking assist takes advantage of the XTS' new electric power steering in order to parallel park the XTS with the driver handling just putting the car in reverse and controlling the accelerator and brake application. Inellibeam headlights allow the XTS to activate high-beams when conditions warrant and drop back to low-beam operation when needed - providing the driver a better view of the road ahead. The 2014 rear-seat entertainment system is made up of DVD-driven dual screens mounted to the front seatbacks. The 2014 XTS goes on sale this summer.
