Cadillac ATS Makes Semi-Finals in North American Car and Truck of the Year
Every year, a group of automotive journalists come together to review and rate the best car and truck/utility vehicle in North America. This award is announced during the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan in January. As part of the process, the jurors have narrowed down the list to the top 10 in each of the two categories and the ATS has made it into to the semi-final round. ATS is joined by the new BMW 3-series, Chevrolet Malibu, Dodge Dart, Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, Lincoln MKZ, Nissan Altima, Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ, and Toyota Avalon. It is significant and maybe a touch unfair that the XTS did not make it into the running this year while the enthusiasts' favorite sports car twins the BRZ and FS-S both entered the top 10. Jurors have a set of points to award to as many or as few of the cars as possible - with the total points for each candidate determining their position...it is likely that FR-S and BRZ will both drop off as they are splitting the points. We will hear closer to the date of the show what the top three finalists are - if only to ramp-up buzz before the final winner is announced. Fingers crossed that the ATS comes out ahead in this really competitive field.
